If I can do it, ANYONE can do it.

Since we announced our Sudbury Pin-Up Event last week we have received several emails from people “wanting” to do it, but are too “shy” to do it.  My response to them was “If I can do it, you can do it.”.  Let me give you a little information first about the below image.    This past November we held our  annual NoBs Inferno Convention in Nashville where one of our key speakers was my good friend Mike Long of Portland Pinups. (Mike along with mamashan, in my opinion have pioneered the new generation of Pin-Up’s)  Mike was going to demonstrate his style of pin-up photography with a live model shoots and post processing demonstrations.  Unfortunately one of his models canceled at the last minute and over a few beers we discussed how to rectify the problem.  The conversation went something like this…..that I remember.

Mike (He’s English) – “Cheerrio Hodgy, I guess we can ask a member if they would like to volunteer, or we  could find someone ear in Nashville”.

Me – “Hey Pip’s, wouldn’t it be funny if I walked out in front of all our members as your model?  We don’t tell anyone, we just do it and you go along with it.”

Mike – “Well cheerio Hodgy, that sounds like a grand idea, would you really do it?”

Me – “It will freakin funny to see their faces.  If we are going to do it, we do it to the nines…………and you owe me one!”

Mike – “Well then, I say we better get shopping then, this will be a grand adventure.  Pips & Hodgy and their crazy antics.”

After the initial shock wore off the members as I walked out onto the background, Mike quickly demonstrated why he is the master at Pin-ups. So I say.  IF I CAN DO IT, ANYONE CAN DO IT.

That’s the way it all went down, and I figured I could also kill 2 costumes with one wig, as we had Halloween night that evening and I would just stay in costume for that.  It didn’t work out as well as I thought as the fake eye-lashes and make-up were really irritating.  Some of you might remember my video of me walking in high-heels.  Well that was practice so I wouldn’t break my ankle walking into the convention room.

Most of you know I like to go for the shock factor and I will do anything for the image, which is also why, at the moment, I have blue hair.  But that’s another story.

For those 2 male members that said “How you doin?” to me as I was walking in the hallway…… you need glasses.  Didn’t the belly hair give it away?

In closing.  This was a favor to a friend, something to get the members laughing and talking.  This was a one shot deal, and I am sorry to those ladies that emailed me complaining that I have better legs than they do.  I hope you all get a good laugh out of this.    Next time it’s Mike Long’s turn and I create the Pin-Up. 🙂
