The Caribbean Beauty
That’s what I call her. This is one image from my the course I instructed at www.niagaraschool.com . I had 4 subjects for a trash the dress session including my last years model Melissa McIntyre. For the image below I was using the same technique that I showed my students the day before by finding open shade with a large lightsource and placing my subject so there is a darker background behind them. This will have your subject pop out of the image and still get that fabulous lighting in their eyes. Also, by using a reflector and shoot through reflector you can modify the lighting on your subject so that it is even and soft. I will have more images from this session this week as I have been busy playing catching for the work I missed while I was away. Looking forward to sharing these Trash The Dress image with you.

Both actually. Instructing inspires me more in my photography.

I absolutely love this shot!! Can you explain what you mean by “shooting through the reflector”? I am a very faithful blog follower of yours. Your work really is amazing. Very inspiring to my learning. Thanks for all your sharing.

I have a diffuser reflector that I will sometimes place in front of my flash or strobe and shoot through it. 🙂
