Let’s Ride The Tractor | Sudbury Engagement

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

It’s not something you hear the bride to be say in the middle of an engagement session, but heck, if you want a picture on the riding lawn mower, then who am I to disagree?  Of course, we will always throw in a little twist and creative lighting to bring out the best in our couples. 🙂

We just finished Matt & Julie’s engagement session out by long lake a few hours ago.  Another kickass property with loads of trees, shed’s, swings and of course riding lawn mowers.  I have known Matt for years as I was his boss back in my photolab manager days at the beginning of my career, and now I have the honor of documenting his wedding.  His fiance Julie is the quiet type, not saying too much, and a little shy in front of the camera.  Oh wait.  Sorry, that’s not her at all.  Julie seems to be the life of a party.  I mean, it WAS her idea for the shot right?  If she’s up for images like this on her engagement session, imagine what we can come up with on their wedding day!!

Julie, Matt.  Thanks again for the session and scoping out the location.  We had fun, and we look forward to coming up with some crazier images on your wedding day.  Cheers!

Even the ducks say it’s enough rain.

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

You know we have had too much rain when the ducks feel free to take a bath any where in your neighbourhood.  I grabbed this a few minutes ago just outside our house.

It can’t all be fish and games.

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

Ok, maybe it can be all fish and games.  Since I had my good friend Jose Paulo of Images by Paulo Photographer here for a few days, I figured it was time to take the day off and do some fishing (since I haven’t done this  in a long long time).  We “hooked” up with my friend Aaron (another www.northernontariofishingforum.com member) who’s wedding we photographed last summer, and headed out to the big waters of Lake Huron.  It didn’t take us long to hook into some great Rainbows and we brought back our catch to enjoy on the BBQ.   Below are some quick vids and pics of todays festivities.

I just picked up a few Lumopro 160 flashes to replace some of my older beat up Vivitar 285’s and I thought I would try them out during one of my therapy sessions.

My Belt Is White & It Now Has A Stripe.

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Most of my blog posts deal with photography, my clients, our business and sometimes our travels, but rarely do I talk about my “fitness” endeavors.  For the past 6 months I have tried something completely out of the norm for me and my fitness ventures.  I decided to take up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Team Submission Factory (website coming soon, you can check them out on facebook) 3 nights a week.  Coming into a martial arts club with zero experience can be pretty intimidating, but George, Erin, Mike and the other members took that fear out of the equation immediately and last night along with a few other of my teammates I received my first stripe.  I would like to personally thank all my teammates for training with me, tapping me, hurting me, and making me a better Jiu-Jitsu Artist.

Me, Mike, Dave, Chris, George, Jason, & Brandon
(Mike – Blue Belt – Received his 3rd stripe)
(Dave – White Belt – Received his 3rd stripe)
(Chris – White Belt – Received his first stripe)
(Jason – White Belt – Received 2 stripes)
(Brandon – White Belt – Received his 2nd stripe)

Rob And I Get Along GREAT! (Hodgy Humour)

Friday, November 5th, 2010

Well its been awhile since Rob and I traveled together on speaking engagements and I must say it’s just like old times.  Some people you can travel well together and others you just don’t mix right, but Rob and I just seem to get in a groove that has “smooth sailing” written all over it.  Of course, we did have to clear the air on a few things once we landed in Nashville as you can see below, but it’s all just peachy keen now.
