When the dust settles | Digging In Sudbury

Monday, February 29th, 2016

This is an oldy but still one of my favorite images especially when I had a large metal print made from the image for display.  I captured this just as a few rocks slid down the front slop and created this HUGE dust cloud that eventually enveloped the cat.

Sudbury Photographer Visits The Simulator

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016

As the advancement in technology increases by the minute simulators are becoming more popular in the mining industrial industry.  Training is more efficient both in cost and time while safety is not an issue…………..unless you trip on the way out of the simulator.

Model - Dan St.Onge THOROUGHTEC simulation CYBERMINE - version 4 A simulator system for the training, re-training and evaluation of operators of LHDs operating in an underground mining environment. The system consists of a set of up to four projected display screens providing a 360° horizontal field of view within which the functional simulated LHD operates within a 3D virtual underground mining world.

Sudbury Marketing

Tuesday, January 26th, 2016

The next big industry event is just around the corner with less than 6 weeks preparation time. PDAC 2016 is coming up fast and if you have not started making preparations for your marketing materials for this event you are going to be cutting it close.  Sit down with your marketing department (if you have one) and start discussing what changes you might need to make for this years trade show season.  Last summer I had the chance to work with Tracks & Wheels here in Sudbury, Ontario creating visuals for their new marketing materials spearheaded by Norman Studio‘s.  Both teams were excellent to work with.  Looking forward to seing more of their materials over the next year.

Commercial Photography Sudbury Ontario

Thursday, October 15th, 2015

Before this Atlas Copco Mine Runner was sent to duty underground I created a few images while it was still clean (this is a very rare occasion).  It doesn’t take long to get dirty once it get’s below surface.  Does your company need high quality professional photography of your equipment, employees or services?

Sudbury Photography

Tuesday, September 8th, 2015

We are now in September and the Summer months are behind us. As Fall approaches companies should start thinking about their Winter marketing materials and what images they will be using to showcase their products & services.  The white stuff covering the ground marks the end to warm Summer looking images so look ahead as there is still time to create unique images for your next Season of marketing materials.

Evening at the plant – Sudbury Ontario

Wednesday, July 29th, 2015

Most of my job sites are dull, grey, dirty and mundane but that all changes when the sun goes down and the lights click on.  The entire environment takes on a whole new look and sometimes it can be beautiful…………..at least to a mining industrial photographer.

Photography Around Sudbury Ontario – and under it.

Tuesday, May 19th, 2015

Sometimes all the elements of a great photograph show up without being invited.  This is what I call a pleasant surprise in the mining industrial sectors and when it happens I take full advantage of it.
