Tuesday, May 17th, 2016I enjoy getting snailmail. When I come home from shooting and I see something sticking out of the mailbox, a little bit of joyful glee comes over me when I realize it’s an industry magazine. I take my time going through each page reading the articles and enjoying the photography of others in the industry but in the back of my head I am hoping to see one of my images being used every time I flip the page. It’s not about me, but more about my clients. I enjoy the fact that they are using my images for what they were intended for in the proper marketing media.
Here are a few images that were recently in the latest issue of www.miningmagazine.com for writeups on 2 of my clients Joy Global and Dumas Mining

Wednesday, May 11th, 2016When traveling to other Countries to photograph mining industrial operations I always try to get out and about to talk & photograph the locals trying to capture a piece of their story in a single image.
Professionally created images can bring more attention to your marketing materials. Take a look at your images, ask others, look at your competitors and see if your images are in the same “league”. If not, then it’s time to upgrade your media library.
The Sudbury Photographer
Monday, April 18th, 2016I recently had a discussion with a friend of mine (who’s company also used my photography services) about the photos I create for my clients in regards to return on investment. I was pleased to know that the company was happy with the images, but more importantly they are using the images in a variety of media to market their company. With the amount of usage the images are getting the ROI far exceeds the initial cost of the photoshoot.

The Faces Behind diGusto | A Sudbury Restaurant
Thursday, April 14th, 2016First I found myself at MIC and now I have made my way to diGusto. Having these two gentleman around me multiple times while photographing their establishments and culinary creations I finally got the opportunity to put these two brothers in front of the camera this morning for a quick snapshot. I still think I came out with the better end of the deal as I walked away with a pizza and other goodies that I was reluctant to share with my wife. Looking forward to photographing (and tasting) diGusto’s menu items next week. Stay tuned.

Wednesday, April 13th, 2016Custom Commercial Photography In Sudbury | Hodgins Photography
Wednesday, March 30th, 2016As my previous post showcased how one company used their custom photography images across multiple platforms the same can be said for the Killarney Mountain Lodge. Not only did they secure the web url www.killarney.com (I still cannot believe that this domain name was available) but they have created a very user friendly eye catching website that showcases their facility and services. On top of that they promote their business via their Facebook Page, Twitter & Instagram. They even showcase their custom photography with hardcopy marketing in the form of brochures and trade show booths. One “block” of images can be used across multiple social media marketing platforms including TripAdvisor, Google Reviews, Newspaper and Tradeshows.

The “Business” of Social Media Marketing | Sudbury
Monday, March 28th, 2016Like with any “business” big or small your prospective clients HAVE TO SEE YOU. If they do not know you exist then how can they possibly purchase your product, service or technique? If you are a business owner and you are reading this blog post but don’t have your own website (with blog), Facebook page, Twitter or Linkedin account (to name a small few) then eventually you are going to walk the way of the dinosaurs. You will fade………..extinct. The younger generation are coming into positions of buying, managing and marketing and how do you think they find, research and review their prospective purchases? Social media of all levels. I deal with many types of business’s and have seen this many times where the “old school” business is running great but as time passes by their visual presence stays the same and eventually becomes outdated.
Maclean Engineering seems to be embracing social media and within the last year I have seen many changes to the companies online presence. Now, I am biased because they do use a lot of the images I created for them but they are USING them on many different platforms from hardcopy marketing to social media. Just a few days of shooting in different locations and they now have an arsenal of updated visually stimulating images of their products with their people that they can use for the next year or so posting daily.
They get it. Are you?
