Jocelyne and myself would like to wish all of you a very safe and happy holiday.  We will see you in the New Year.

You are such a freakin COW!

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

Well what else are you supposed to be huh?  Was going to do my daily blog post today from a session when I came across this image I snagged while we were on our way to the location.  There was just something about these cows and their positions that struck my fancy.  I snapped one image of the cow showing off her arse when she suddenly turned around to look at me and revealed her calf behind her.  I then quickly grabbed this second shot and we were on our way.

One Reason I Have Not Posted In Awhile

So as you know we moved to a newer house from our small little comfy home of 10 years.  Joce and I fell in love with our new house the minute we walked in the front door.  Here is a quick snapshot of our kitchen/dinning area.  Sorry I couldn’t use OCF but Joce wouldn’t let me put any stands down on our hardwood floors.  Can’t blame her though. 🙂  Have a great long weekend everyone.

I Am The BBQ King

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

I kicked off  the easter weekend with BBQ Mastery. Now I normally don’t post any of my own personal backyard BBQ stuff, but I had to this time.  I just finished one of the best BBQ Rib Supper’s I have every created. I mean the meat was “fall off the bone” tender, cooked to perfection and seasoned to extasy.  Slow cooked with a hint of hickory smoke these ribs didn not last long after they hit the plate.  Someday, if some of you are lucky enough, I will create this masterpeice for you.  For those of you that have already had them………….you know what I”m talkin about.  HAVE A GREAT EASTER WEEKEND!!!!  Oh ya, image was taken with available light blah blah blah.

Make it a better 2010

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

Happy New Year everyone, I hope everyone is safe and sound.  We are heading out tomorrow for our diving getaway and hopefully some sunny skies.  We work hard, we play hard right?  Unfortunately not everyone is in the same scenario.  We are proud to say that this year our NoBs Website and community raised just over $5000 this past holiday season to the Sleeping Children Around The  World Ogranization.  100% of all donations go towards bedkits  to children of any race and/or religion who will benefit the most; typically being located in underdeveloped and developing countries.

In the past 3 years we have raised over $13000 for Scaw over the holiday seasons and I would personaly like to thank everyone who participated.  If your in a giving mood, and feel blessed with what you have (really do you have it bad?) share some of it with someone who needs it.  You don’t even have to look any further than your own back yard.

I Got Ratted Out!

It is with great pleasure that we announce that the “Ringleader” of the “(Crappy) Assistant Murders” has been apprehended and is being held in custody.

James Hodgins was arrested after a complicated sting operation involving  numerous law enforcement agencies on both sides of the borders. The comprehensive investigation has included officers from across Ontario and several US states. (see missing persons files). CSIS has also expressed interest, as has the FBI, with possible follow up by CIA, NRA, CFL, NHL, NBA, NAACP, PPOC, WHMIS, DOD, DEA, ATF, DOT, FDA, NCIS, USDA, UN, RICO, NASA, UNICEF, OPP, NSA, NATO, FUBAR, and several divisions of SPCA. (no animals were harmed in the commission of any of these crimes, but they may have been used as potential weapons). See “squirrel” addendum.

NB:  Now, as the search goes on for any possible accomplices to these crimes. For his own protection, (and at his own request) Mr. Hodgins will be held in padded, solitary.

It also should be noted that during the high risk take down that it  became apparent that Tazer use was ineffective on the suspect. It seems to be the first time on record that officers reported a suspect as “asking for more”!  He was heard saying “Do it again” numerous times. Til the arresting officers finally gave up when their units ran out of charge, and even though the subject reported he “had extra batteries in his bag”, it was decided to just quit and put him in the back of the cruiser. The officers declined to put him in the trunk as he requested.

This is what happens when you go visit Brad Kelly of Tequila Moon Productions in Cambridge Ontario.  I thought he was my friend, I thought he was just taking an image of me to be a nice guy.  I knew I should not have confided in him and his little Pet Rat.    This made me laugh when I just received it.  I met Brad a few years ago while attending a convention of the Professional Photographers Of Canada and realized at that time he had a very odd sense of humour, just like me.  Thanks again Brad, it was great seing you yesterday and I look forward to hanging with you in Nashville Next week.    Click here for the previous “Crappy Assistant Chronicles”

Sudbury Restaurant Is On Fire

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Respect Is Burning has to be one of the hottest restaurants in Sudbury.  Today I had lunch with Rob Gregorini (owner) to talk business and marketing.   Even though we are in two seperate fields, marketing is marketing right?  And Rob knows how to market his business.  It’s no wonder this  July was even more busier than last July.  Recession?  What Recession?  I was always intrigued by his lengthy newsletters, his radio blasts, and the snailmail I would receive in my mail (no, not internet mail, but the good o’l fashion walk to the mailbox mail), it’s something that some business just are not doing anymore myself included, and I keep kicking myself in the arse because of it.

Stay tuned for Rob’s new Supper Club Format including new menus, members only events, off site branded parties (for members only) freebies galore and blah blah blah I can’t divulge too much as it’s not my club, but I’m sure Rob will fill us all in.

If you have not been in Respect lately I suggest you check it out, they have now added a new lower dining room for groups in the high season.  It’s gorgeous (maybe I will snag some images to show you in the future).

Coincidentaly, Matt & Jennifers wedding that we just document this past Sat, Respect did all the catering for them, and it looked delicous if I might add.  Small world.

10 ten restaurants in sudbury
Rob will have a new site, new logo, and yes of course a BLOG!!!
Be sure to checkout his facebook group to be notified of all these new events.

The Superstack is not just in Sudbury.

Monday, August 10th, 2009

In fact it’s all across the World in a whole other Country.  I bumped into Scott Donnelly (Lead singer for the band Superstack) and over a cup of Joe we were talking about some of the images I have done for them in the past…waaaaaay back when.  He tells me this cool story about the photo below.

Superstack Music
Hey James, My ex girlfriend was a language major, and while she was in Spain studying, she went to a party of some fellow students. While there enjoying a drink in the living room, she happened to notice out of the corner of her eye a very familiar picture, the one with me kickin out the jams with superstack, (taken at the legion in Sudbury), shuffling through pictures on a computer’s screen saver. She was stunned to be half way around the world and to have her boyfriend’s picture show up on an anonymous computer. Her friend said he found it online and thought it was the coolest rock n roll pic he ever saw.  Legendary!

Thanks Again Dude!”
