Sudbury Photographer captures Mine Rescue Competition with Stunning Clarity.

Monday, May 12th, 2014

I had the opportunity to capture images of the recent Mine Rescue Competition held in the Walden Arena Lively. This was a fast paced competition with limited lighting and challenging scenarios. Applied a few different techniques to capture images that had impact and also be used for review/archive. Congratulations to Vale East Mines Rescue Team who came out victorious.

I will be working on the hundreds of images I captured throughout the week.

Me Love Cookies!

Wednesday, November 28th, 2012

Day two photographing at Smiths Market and today I finished up some goodies in the bakery department (by finishing up I mean eating) including these decadent Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies.   I had to create some background texture that complimented the cookies so I simply shaved some chocolate and placed it on a Styrofoam plate beside my plate of cookies.

I took over the bakery department.

A Quick Snap Between Frames

Friday, November 9th, 2012

Sometimes just before you get your subject to look at the camera I will grab a few frames while they are playing around with each other.  Once in awhile you can capture a moment that means something to them.  That’s what happened here.  This is how they are, this is it, you can’t stage this.  Mom loved it.

Another Studio Portrait

Here is a very simple head & shoulder portrait from Joelle’s Studio Portrait Session.

Fall Family Portrait

Wednesday, September 19th, 2012

We just finished another great outdoor session with this amazing family.  Our first location wasn’t the hottest (it was cold too) as all the leaves have already fallen and the wind coming off the lake was COLD, but we did have another location in mind and it turned out to be exactly what we needed.  Thanks again Curtis & Michelle for allowing us to capture you and your kids, you were all amazing!

Soft Light Family Portrait

Thursday, July 5th, 2012

As the sun was just cresting behind the trees we took advantage of that warm light with a bit of lens flair to soften the image.

If you don’t bite your nails.

The atmosphere was so relaxing I was almost tempted to make an appointment and get MY nails done by a few Boreal Students.

Rollin In The Hay

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

When you let kids just be kids you can get some amazing images.  If you find the right light, with the right location, it can all come together.  Just after we finished the family session I quickly had mom and dad move away as Lucas here was in the right spot, at the right time, doing the right stuff.
