You Think It’s Warm Out Now?

Friday, April 15th, 2011

Even when it’s below zero outside it’s always above 0 a few thousand feet underground.  I remember I was sweating my helmet off while setting up for this shot.  I had to constantly move one flash so that it would not reflect back into my lens.  The trick to images like this is to try to get a light behind your subject so you can add a bit of dimension to him and not flat light him like most do.

It’s Bigger Than A Tonka Truck

The vehicle I get to photograph next week makes this one look like a sandbox toy, but don’t let the size fool you, the driver of this scoop knew his stuff and could park this baby on a dime.

Wow, I finally get a chance to breathe.  It’s been non stop for the past 2 months and I still have another busy 2 months.  We just got back from the WPPI (Wedding Portrait Photographers International) Convention And Tradeshow and what a blast it was.  3 of my images received an “Accolade Of Excellence” and I will post them when I get the final results back.  We hung out with alot of our NoBs members and even met some new ones.  The tradeshow was huge and we spent some $  on some new products that I think some of you will be very happy with.  Here are just a few images from WPPI. Our wonky glasses are an inside joke with our members.

After coming home we took a day off to get ourselves back into the routine of our photography studio.  On Saturday I attended my first hockey game in over 20 years at the Sudbury Saturday Night event.  I was hired to cover the event throughout the evening.  Here are few images .

Other than that we have contintued to book weddings for 2010, and just got 2 more for this year which leaves us with one date left for 2009.  We are off to Cuba next week for a wedding, then back for 2 weeks and then I’m off to the Professional Photographers Of Ontario Convention in Ottawa.
